Overview

GrowthPal helps buyside customers get a curated & continues pipeline of target recommendations in there deal sourcing journey. As taking a buyside requirements is a crucial initial process for us to help buyside customers. So we need a streamlined way to submit and manage their requirement, including mandate type and specific preferences, directly on the platform.
 

Research

With our goal of giving users to set up their preferences autonomously, with options to review and edit details as needed. We decided to first understand the current mandate creation process.

Pain points

  • Analyst to record and maintain requirement docs.
  • Multiple 1:1 with customers - Not every questions are answered in one call.
  • Recording data on google docs - adds rooms for error.
  • Reduces user engagement with the platform

Current process (Buyside requirements)

  • Analyst to schedule a initial call with the customers.
  • Collecting data on google docs (template).
  • Once done with the requirement collection - customer has to wait for a week to get profiles which match's the requirements (manual process).
  • Shortlist the profile and continue with the deal.

Fun Fact About Me: I was born in a small town/village in Rajasthan, IN called “Pratapgarh”. Which is a 3 hours drive from Lake City Udaipur.

Solution

Currently, at this stage the platform only have ability to set potential recommendation from analyst dashboard (manual process done by analyst). On buyside dashboard user can only see the recommendation profiles.
Buyside users need streamlined way to submit and manage their requirements, including mandate type and specific preferences, directly on the platform.
We decided to tackle the problem in two ways:

Shareable link

A shareable requirement form - link which would be shared to the customers which user can fill as per there convenance.

Onboarding flow

Including a onboarding process which will store and redirect users to the dashboard.

Setup your profile

In this initial step, user establish their presence on the platform by filing out key personal and organizational details. This includes basic profile information as well as relevant organizational information to ensure that all interactions on the platform are tailored to their specific context.

Create mandate

Here, users define the core requirements and objectives of their mandate, The mandate creation form guides users through specific essential criteria, such as mandate type, objectives, timelines and any specific conditions and preferences.

Review and confirm

The review step allows users to verify all the information they’ve provided before final submission. Users can double -check the details in their profile and mandate to ensure accuracy and completeness, and they can make any final adjustments as necessary.

Connect with team

In this final step, users can connect with their team to foster collaboration and establish shared access to the mandate details. The platform prompts users to schedule a call with our team of domain expert analyst. The system will automatically select the relevant domain expert.

Final thoughts

As the founding designer leading this projects, I had the oppurtunity to shape a crtitical part of the product expereince that directly impacts how buyside users interact with our platform. Buy focusing on an intuitive onboarding flow, we transformed a previously manual and disjointed process into a seamless, self-driven journey.
Through each step - research, design, and iteration. I aimed to build a solution that not only met functional needs but also enhanced user confidence and satisfaction with out platform. This project reinforced my belief in the power of thoughtful UX design to drive both user and business success.
